Two things I never thought I would enjoy: classical music and podcasts. Funny enough, I owe an apology to my sister (I skipped almost all her orchestra concerts through middle school, high school, AND college). Sometime in between, I finally realized Tchaikovsky wasn’t a word she just made up. She also tried getting me into podcasts, which I mentally assumed were like recorded lectures. Thank you, but literally no.
And yet, here I am, sipping on my evening tea blend (spearmint and ashwagandha), letting myself be immersed in the sentimental melodies of Swan Lake (Tchaikovsky is a GOAT for that one btw), pondering why I enjoy what I enjoy now vs before. There is A LOT to reflect on. Alongside willingly listening to classical music, I can confidently say that podcasts have changed my life. I will list some of the podcasts I highly recommend below! <3
My decision to listen to podcasts initially was a conscious process of wanting to know more about entrepreneurship, health, spirituality, finance, and personal development. It was also a process of learning and relearning what brings me pure joy. It was learning to start again.
And this process all began with fitness. I bet you thought this was going to be a gym-free post—never. Fitness was my first real hobby that I embraced as an adult. The gym opened my eyes to the possibilities of self-growth and discovery. I fell in love with things like progressing and having a routine. It became a habit. The natural progression to podcasts became a door into finding what else resonated deeply within me. Concepts like mindfulness, nutrition, holistic wellness, branding, and business propelled me further along the path of self-discovery.
It almost felt like discovering an alter ego, yet this was the Amanda in me all along. I really loved meeting myself. It took action. It took constantly tapping into where I wanted to be. This is all to say that you have limitless versions of yourself. It's a testament to the power of these core values—open-mindedness, curiosity, authenticity, resilience, and self-awareness—that have guided my journey of personal growth and transformation. I'm curious about the experiences I've overlooked in the past that might hold potential for enjoyment and growth in the future. I mean, I have already become a morning person, what more could I possibly demand of myself???
